A leading, award‑winning architectural practice is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join its Birmingham studio. The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and coordinating technical design information across all RIBA work stages, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects meet the highest technical standards. This position involves close collaboration with clients, consultants, and internal teams, as well as representing the practice during site visits and project meetings.

You will play a key role in delivering projects across a diverse portfolio, providing technical expertise, problem‑solving guidance, and contributing to the continued growth of the studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across various sectors

  • Produce, review, and manage high‑quality technical design information across all RIBA stages

  • Conduct site visits and act as a key representative of the practice

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities

  • Apply practical, solutions‑driven thinking to complex design challenges

  • Travel to project sites across the UK as required

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Architectural Technologist, Architectural Technician, or technically focused Architect

  • Strong understanding of Building Regulations and current construction legislation

  • Experience across all design phases, including site involvement

  • Confidence in client‑facing roles

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design tools

  • Strong communication skills and excellent written/spoken English

  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work as part of a team
