The Opportunity

TSM Technical are working with an established and growing entrance systems business who are looking to add an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to their team.

This is a genuine long-term opportunity for an engineer who is looking for more than just their next job.

The business is small, experienced and hands-on, with a team of highly experienced engineers who are also the directors. As the team is only five people, everyone has a voice and your contribution will genuinely matter.

The company is growing, which is why they are looking to bring another engineer into the business. They are looking for someone who wants to settle into a company for the long term, become an important part of the team and grow with the business.

The Role

The main focus of the role will be automatic doors, covering a mixture of:

  • Installation
  • Service and maintenance
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Reactive breakdowns
  • Planned maintenance
  • Working across a wide range of automatic door manufacturers and systems

The business also works across industrial doors, gates and barriers, so experience in these areas would be advantageous. There is also the opportunity to develop your knowledge in these areas if you would like to broaden your skill set.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of systems rather than being restricted to the same products every day.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, we're looking for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer with around 10 years' experience within the industry, although the right experience and attitude are more important than an exact number of years.

You should have experience working across a broad range of manufacturers, ideally including names such as:

  • Record
  • GEZE
  • Dormakaba / DORMA
  • Besam
  • TORMAX
  • Other major automatic door manufacturers

We're particularly interested in engineers who are confident across installation, servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding, and who enjoy having some variety in their working week.

Experience with industrial doors, gates and barriers would be a bonus, but automatic doors will remain the main focus of the role.

What's on Offer?

  • Up to £20 per hour | £44,200
  • 42.5 hours per week
  • Full door-to-door travel paid
  • 1 in 4 / 1 in 5 call-out rota
  • £60 standby payment
  • £50 call-out bonus
  • Call-outs paid at 1.5x and 2x
  • Night work and Sunday work paid at 2x
  • Overtime after standard working hours paid at 1.5x
  • Opportunities to progress as the business continues to grow
  • Opportunity to develop your experience across automatic doors, industrial doors, gates and barriers

Why Join?

This is a business that genuinely values its engineers.

You'll be joining a small team where you're treated like an adult, trusted to get on with your job and recognised as an important part of the business.

The directors are highly experienced engineers themselves, so there's a huge amount of knowledge within the team. If you want to deepen your knowledge of automatic doors or develop your skills across industrial doors, gates and barriers, you'll have experienced people around you who are happy to share that knowledge.

There is also a real opportunity to grow with the business as it continues to expand.

Location

The role covers the South West of England, so we're particularly interested in engineers based along or close to the M4 or M5 corridor.

The role will involve travel across the South West, with door-to-door travel paid.

Interested?

If you're an experienced Automatic Door Engineer and you're looking for a company where you can build a long-term career, have a voice and be genuinely valued, we'd love to hear from you.
